Robert Soja, Naples
Park and shop
Citizens of Collier County, snowbirds and visitors:
For years I just assumed that it said "Valet" painted in the parking lot outside of Publix. Now I see it actually says "Fire Lane."
I don't understand why everyone stops there to drop off somebody. I understand elderly people, people with disabilities, or even in a summertime monsoon, but it's everyone, all of the time.
We are all busy these days, and I am going somewhere too.
Can't you just park your car and walk?
I think it's funny that firemen park at the back of the parking lot while shopping — everyone else is in the fire lane!

Parking in Naples is a Mess...Just try to Park off 5th Avenue South....almost every lot has PRIVATE Signs and they are taken by lazy employees!
