A North Naples man is accused of driving a man off the road and then attacking him with a crowbar.
Richard Grimes, 22, of the 100 block of Ridge Drive, was arrested Thursday by Collier deputies at the 3300 block of U.S. 41 East.
According to an arrest report, the victim said he was on his way home in the Pelican Marsh neighborhood last Saturday when he was run off the road by a white SUV.
The victim told deputies that Grimes then got out of the passenger seat and attacked him unprovoked with a crowbar.
According to reports, the victim was hit several times in the head and body with the crow bar to the point he was bleeding severely. The victim said he curled up into a ball until they Grimes quit beating him, deputies say.
The victim suffered multiple cuts on the front and back of his head, legs, and back.
Deputies said the crowbar used in the attack weighed approximately 8 pounds.
Grimes is facing a charge of aggravated battery with use of a deadly weapon.

Sorta true. The victim could have kept a Smith and Wesson Model 500 handgun in the glove compartment of his vehicle legally, without a carry permit. Once Richard Grimes showed up at the vehicle snarling with his crowbar, he would have likely suffered a four inch hole in his head. The mangled crowbar and some bone splinters to be found later on a road three miles away.

Hmmm...Could this victim perhaps be the same person who kicked in Grimes' door a few weeks ago causing his last arrest? Maybe Mr. Grimes' steroid induced rage was not all about the road. Quite odd that a burglar would break in, but not steal the drugs, jewelry or money?? Me thinks there is more to this random road rage story....

I was actually referring to the idiots who tailgate me even when I'm going 5-10 over, weaving in and out of traffic and basically causing a hazard for everyone on the road either because they're late for something or are just an (tried to use a naughty word) in general.
